What I used:
- 150 grams Nupur 100% Mehendi
- 1 1/2 cups Pure Chamomile Tea (not pictured)
- 1/2 cup Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut Conditioner
- 3 Tbspns ACV
- 2 Tbspns honey
- Wooden spoon
- Old Eco Styler Gel jar
- Gloves/Plastic bag (or cap)
Let's Go!
Straight out the pack (the henna should be green in color)
I boiled 2 Pure Chamomile Tea bags. . . let sit for about 5 minutes.
Adding the hot tea to the henna
Added all the other ingredients and mixed until (relatively) smooth. Next time I think I will mix half the henna and keep adding tea then the honey, ACV and conditioner (maybe I'll get a smoother consistency). -shrugs-
I placed a sandwich bag over the jar and sealed with a rubber band. Let sit for about 2 hours. Packed my stuff up and headed to my mother's house lol. She has a detachable shower head that was oh so appealing as opposed to dunking my head into a tub full of water.
Freshly washed, detangled, naked hair. I divided my hair into 4 sections to make the application easier
Henna application accomplished! Took about 15 minutes.
Top your beautiful crown off with a plastic cap or bag (thanks Stop and Shop!) and wait for however long you like. I let it sit on my hair for a little over an hour.
Rinsed until water was almost competely clear. Co washed with Aussie Moist conditioner.

| Ugh, shrinkage is not my friend lol |
Deep conditioned with Silicon Mix for 20 minutes and rinsed.
- Applied a little Herbal Essence LTR leave-in conditioner
- Threw on a hat and went to the gym
- After gym, rinsed hair, twisted hair up with Jane Carter Solution Nourish & Shine and went to bed
Overall, I like the results that the treatment gave me: conditioning and color all in the same breath! My curls were more defined and there was a red/burgundy tint to my hair. Hmmm may have to do this once a month. If you have been thinking about trying henna or nervous to do so, I say go for it!
