      So, personally speaking, I have a love/hate relationship with Beyonce, lol. Sometimes she's my best friend (in my head) and sometimes I don't want to hear her name, music, etc. See love/hate =)

2011 NY FNO. . .

      

"We're trying to look for fashion-ables!"

      So it was literally a last minute decision to go to Fashion's Night Out this year.  One of the besties and I threw on some clothes, beat our faces and eased on down (well up) the road to New York.  As expected, it was crowded in the stores and on the streets.  We didn't really get to go to the stores we wanted to but ah well, it was nice to be there.  A night of fashions (lol), interesting people, Halal food and a little bit of the night life ;). . .

Irene/Cancelled Events. . .

      Well, this has been a strange week for NJ.  We experienced the ground shaking when an unexpected earthquake decided to make a debut and now, Hurricane Irene is about to hit by evening.  I'm really confused. . . I live in Jersey! The most I've ever experienced was some heavy rain, strong (bareable) winds, flooding, heavy snow, hail, the usual.  This is just all too weird for me. . .

      Over the weekend, my friend, Ije, held a get together in celebration of graduation, life and good times. Congrats again babays!  It's crazy that we are all getting older and can sit around and talk about the "college days" lol. Time sure does fly and I love all my friends dearly and truly. =)

A little tid bit. . . all these fine gals and myself are natural! Beautiful!

M.I.A in MIA. . .

      My friend, Alyse, invited me celebrate her birthday with her in Miami.  I quickly said "hell yea! In there!"  I had tons of fun, however I will not put all the pictures on the blog, don't want to go overboard. We did the usual, South Beach'd it up during the day with drinks in hand visiting stores, Versace's mansion &, of course, the beach!  Then enjoyed the night life. I'm not going to type much but will just post a few pics. . .  some outfit pics as well.  Enjoy!! I know I did!  P.s. Check out my nails and braids I did for the trip ;)

For the Love of Potter. . .

      Yes, I know that I am about over a week late with this post but I had to mention it on the blog.  My friends threw a Harry Potter movie marathon event, dubbed "Wine and Wizardry" to catch up on the last two movies before heading to the theater to see the final one =(.  For the occasion, I did my nails of course lol and my best friends and I made cupcakes! A Touch of Independence. . .

      I thoroughly enjoyed my 4th of July weekend.  It was filled with cookouts, fun, drinks, randomness, fireworks, parades, laughs, love and rainy day thrifting!  I loved it!

      First things first, what better way to start off the month with a little holiday thrifting which was 50% off for members.  I visited two locations of the same store, took my time perusing the aisles and racks in spite of the excited crowd of people and came out with some lovely purchasing. .  .#winning.

Natural Hair Workshop. . .

      This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending my very first natural hair event in the form of Kinky Curly Coily Me! workshop for those seeking some love, support and knowledge pertaining to the care of natural hair.  I believe it was a great workshop, especially for those ladies who were newly natural, thinking about transitioning and/or those who were in search for some tips.  The two presenters, Jenell of Kinky Curly Coily Me! and Keisha of Naturallyahsiek (and YouTube video blogger), were very inviting, humorous and informative.  They were not afraid to share their natural hair "secrets" and were very conversational.
     
      I attended the workshop with two friends, one that has been natural for a month (Tahlia, on below left) and one who has been natural since 2009 (Kia, below right).  I loved this dynamic! 

Show Me the Goods. . .

      This year I was invited to attend Chris Leeann Boutique's Ultimate Trunk Show that was held in Brooklyn, NY.  A friend of mine (Alyse), and her best friend (Simone), co-owners of Finishing Touches Accessories, were a vendor this year.  It is always nice to go out and support them. Check out their website!!

     

      The event took place at Dumbo Loft.  There were two showrooms that were located across the street from one another.  There were many vendors and companies that sold jewelry, clothes (a lot of vintage) and beauty products (there were a nail station and a vendor that was doing make up).

     Also available were complimentary drinks (sangria and a mixed vodka drink I believe) and appetizers (mini burgers).  And -drum roll pleaseeee- gift bags!!
